Muhammed al-Durrah & the Children of al-Nakba
“ Since 2000, it is estimated that over 7000 Palestinian children have been detained and prosecuted by the Israeli system, of which the majority are charged with throwing stones. “
A stone thrown by a defenseless child will never be comparable to the live ammunition used on so many innocents.
RIP Muhammed al-Darrah: a boy of only twelve, shot mercilessly by Israeli soldiers in Gaza 12 years ago. He died in the arms of his father as they attempted to seek refuge behind a wall. He was shot 4 times while his father attempted to shield him from the shooting.

Sabra and Shatila: 30 years later
For Palestinians born in exile, particular refugees whose status makes it nearly impossible for them to travel anywhere, Palestine remains an imagined homeland. Their image of Palestine is influenced by memories, pictures, stories, and access to social media, thus helping them to reconnect to their homeland and maintain their dual presence through global information and social networks, but most never even imagine the possibility of returning.
